FITZGERALD BIOSPHERE GROUP

Aim

The Fitzgerald Biosphere Group (FBG) is a newly emerging non-profit community agricultural organisation working in the Shire of Jerramungup on the southern coast of Western Australia.
The group works with farmers, researchers, industry groups and federal and state agencies to address local production (ie: diseases, pests and nutrient limitations) and natural resource management issues (ie: salinity and soil acidification) to ensure the long-term sustainability of the agricultural industry and the communities within the region.
FBG Aims
- To identify and service the needs of our members and the wider Fitzgerald Biosphere community.
- To develop, demonstrate, promote and support the adoption of sustainable farming and ecological systems in the Fitzgerald Biosphere region through collaborative partnerships.
- To become financially self-sufficient.
- To develop, maintain and enhance partnerships with agencies, other community groups and private industry.

AIMS

1. To develop, demonstrate, promote and support the adoption of responsible and profitable farming systems in the Fitzgerald Biosphere region.
2. To encourage and motivate commitment within the region for a long-term viable agricultural industry through collaborative partnerships.
3. To identify and service the needs of our members and the wider local community.
To maintain and enhance our relationships with private industry
